Among the decisions made during the meeting was that an Advisory Board of senior water policy experts will be recruited and assembled to help the INPIM secretariat on working towards its mission. They will meet frequently to advise the INPIM Secretariat and review its functioning.
In an effort to increase the activity level of each country chapter, it was decided that the Chairman of the Board and the Executive Director of INPIM will now be able to select change agents for the chapters. These individuals will be appointed to INPIM's Board of Directors. The Board will now have a virtual meeting each year, which will be conducted over e-mail.
Among the items discussed was that the Secretariat has been awarded a four-year grant by the government of the Netherlands (see related article on page 17). This grant will provide core support for the organization over the next four years. The Board has decided that INPIM should secure funding from other institutions as well.
It was also decided that the Seventh International Seminar on Participatory Irrigation Management will be held in Albania in 2004 (see related article on page 17 for more details).
