Adilabad District Level Workshop

Adilabad district is situated in Telangana region and is the biggest district in Andhra Pradesh. The workshop was organized at Luxettipet town. The main source of water for irrigation purpose to this district is Godavari River, SRSP project and two medium irrigation projects namely Swarna and Sathanala irrigation system. The district is reeling under drought like situation for past three years.

About 150 farmers, 3 officers from Irrigation and CAD and Panchayat Raj Institutions representatives participated in the meeting on their travel expense despite of traveling for about 200 kms one way. As the problems is continuously faced for several years, the participants decided to form the district level committee to address various issues like WUAs, improvement of tanks systems, urban and rural water supply conflicts, etc. Mr. Chanchu Ushanna (Former Chairman Zilla Parishad and former DC President, Luxettipet, Adilabad) as Hon.President and Mr Pettam Srinivas (representative of WUA) as President along with 15 executive members.
